The NL MVP was announce and controversy soon followed (mostly in Philadelphia).
To start, what are the requirements for the MVP:
1. Actual value of a player to his team, that is, strength of offense and defense.
2. Number of games played.
3. General character, disposition, loyalty and effort.
4. Former winners are eligible.
5. Members of the committee may vote [...]
The eighteenth view brings us cricket, lots of scores, more cricket, and very little else. But, still, come on in and have a read. I’m sure you’ll be, at the very least, more informed than you were before.
For one of the few weeks of this football season, there wasn’t a truckload of upsets or close calls or shootouts. The week appeared to be tame by the standards of excitement and entertainment set so far this year. However, hidden below all of this was the reality that the teams most in the spotlight were consistent this week and refused to let the wave of unexpected events and miracle plays and scores enter into their outings. That and the Big-12 stopped its implosion for one week at least.
After being quietly linked to Colorado Rockies OF Matt Holliday since the end of the season, the A’s “surprised” the national media that generally ignores all things Oakland by (reportedly) agreeing to a deal.

Free agents will be able to negotiate with all major league teams this week, so I’m going to look at the available players by position and make some predictions. A lot of these will be off the wall predictions, but some are currently rumors.
Up first, the infielders.
A Democrat as the new US president-in-waiting, schools crashing and burning in Haiti, Russia sabre-rattling… None of that matters! Because Australia lost to India in the cricket! And there’s some scores and things and I go off about a US TV show… Quite the view…
My main beef is the outfield selections. You have guys that are specialized in the field (you wouldn’t want Manny Ramirez anywhere other than left field, while someone like Sizemore would be a waste out of center). Why is it this award doesn’t reward the top left, center, and right fielders. It drives me nuts to see 3 centerfielders win from one league.
Things are going to get more real and a lot more confusing from here on out.
After a week that saw an offensive explosive rare amongst top 25 teams as well as this explosion extending to the pros with San Diego & New Orleans lighting up London and the Colts and Titans scoring more than a [...]
LestersLegends.com presents Bye Week Alternatives - Week 10.
This is the last bye week. Cincinnati, Dallas, Tampa Bay, and Washington get the week off. You’ll be without some key contributors. Let’s take a look at some attractive alternatives.
Quarterback
The ony QB that will really be missed is Jason Campbell. He has put together a real nice season. Jeff [...]
With the US election about to hit everyone in the face like a cream pie thrown by Bozo’s kid brother, what better way to escape it all than by reading the raving lunacy of an Australian hack? We’ve got wrestling, cricket, some YouTube goodies and more scores than you could really care about. All that and… well, not much else really. Hey, come and take in the view!
